The purpose of Chemainus Communities in Bloom is to enhance our beautiful West Coast community through people, plants and pride. Members include novice gardeners who wish to learn more. experienced gardeners willing to share knowledge, gardeners without gardens, students earning community credits and community members wanting to make a difference.
We are a not for profit volunteer group. We receive a grant from the Municipality of North Cowichan to fund our activities.
CCiB activities include:

-planting and maintenance of approximately 20 beds and planters around Chemainus (adopt a beds).
– open meetings to discuss plans and ongoing tasks. Usually 10 meetings per year, around 90 minutes in duration.
– during the summer we meet every two weeks to weed at the Henry Road traffic Circle or where necessary. Called ‘Weed and Feed’ we weed for one hour, often followed by social time.
– optional social gatherings after spring planting and around Christmas.
